In Harmony by RyanEchidnaSEAL In Harmony by RyanEchidnaSEAL
In Harmony

Hello all. To celebrate my fandom as a major Bruce Springsteen fan and a Sonic Underground fan, I'm making parody album covers of Sonic Underground albums based on Bruce Springsteen's albums. I've wanted to do this for a while. Sure I did a parody of "Born To Run" a long time ago, but I want to use my NEW and IMPROVED style to draw the albums right. So, finally, I got off my lazy butt and decided to do the album-parodies I've always wanted to do. I may even do the backs of them when I get the time, including the songs... that would seem cool, eh?

Also, notice their names... Sonic (5 letters) Underground (11 letters) ... Bruce (5 letters) Springsteen (11 letters) and, believe me, I can easily see Sonic as Bruce Springsteen himself... can you? Be honest!

This is the twelfth album. This one is based off of Bruce Springsteen's "The Rising" album. It was his first studio album after he reunited with the E Street Band since "Born in the U.S.A." This album is Bruce's response to how he felt after 9/11, Bruce being from New Jersey and all. It has the song "My City of Ruins" which he played on the Tribute to Heroes Special. I think this album is one of my favorites of his. I even made a Sonic Underground music video of the song "The Rising" with the band playing to it instead of "Someday."

For Sonic Underground, I tried to find a song that was two words and started with THE... but like with "The River" I had no luck. I then found "Together In Harmony" ... I think that song had a lot to do with rising up and the hedgehog's quest against Robotnik. I dropped the "Together" and kept in "In Harmony" and figured it would fit.

Art-wise, this was difficult. I drew in the background from scratch and desperately tried my best to make it match the album layout. I didn't know how I was going to draw Sonic "waving" from side-to-side, but I found the push-tool and I was pleased with the results. This image took me over ten layers of various opacity to make (three layers on Sonic alone). Overall, I'm pleased with this. It turned out better than I thought it would!

Well, enjoy "In Harmony"

Just saw all the covers and I say great job. If Sonic needs a backup band, I have this quartet ready.

By the end of the 1990's many observers had written off Springsteen's career. He undid his biggest mistake by reuniting The E Street Band, but most observers were shocked at how great "The Rising" turned out to be. [link]

Little known fact: Did you know that the album title "In Harmony" is not foreign to Bruce Springsteen. It's the album title (specifically "In Harmony 2") that his version of "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town" was on. I don't think that song was released as a single here in the USA, but it was very successful in the UK and Ireland.

Well Ryan you've come a long way with these album parodies, you've only got 4 more to go! And I think this is the best you've done so far, I love the way Sonic is "waving" side to side, that effect is really cool looking! Well done bro! ^^
