Face Your Fear

Hello all. To celebrate my fandom as a major Bruce Springsteen fan and a Sonic Underground fan, I'm making parody album covers of Sonic Underground albums based on Bruce Springsteen's albums. I've wanted to do this for a while. Sure I did a parody of "Born To Run" a long time ago, but I want to use my NEW and IMPROVED style to draw the albums right. So, finally, I got off my lazy butt and decided to do the album-parodies I've always wanted to do. I may even do the backs of them when I get the time, including the songs... that would seem cool, eh?

Also, notice their names... Sonic (5 letters) Underground (11 letters) ... Bruce (5 letters) Springsteen (11 letters) and, believe me, I can easily see Sonic as Bruce Springsteen himself... can you? Be honest!

This is the thirteenth album. This one is based off of Bruce Springsteen's "Devils & Dust" album. This is his THIRD acoustic-solo album after "Nebraska" and "The Ghost of Tom Joad." I think this album really depicts Bruce's religious views being raised a Roman Catholic, but his songs also shows respects towards Spiritualists, Agnostics (like me), and even Atheists. I like the line in his title song, "I got God on my side/And I'm just trying to survive/What if what you do to survive kills the things you love/Fears a powerful thing/It can turn your heart black you can trust/And take you God-filled soul/Fill it with devils and dust"

For Sonic Underground, I searched for a song that had a deep meaning to it. "Face Your Fear" was the closest I found, even though it wasn't sung sadly, but it did have the same number of words as "Devils and Dust." Plus, the message of the title of the song itself, "Face Your Fear" can be a meaningful song, don't you agree?

Art-wise, I thought this was going to be difficult because the album was crumpled up and had pulled tape lines and rips all over it... not really, it was PRINTED to look like that. So, what I did was I took my tablet and manually drew in all the crumpled lines and it turned out to be fun. I was pleased with the results. With some added textures and flat colors, I came up with this. I am VERY pleased with how this came out!

Well, enjoy "Face Your Fear"

This album doesn't seem to have a unifying theme like Springsteen's first two low-key albums. Still, there's some great songs on here. [link]

Ok, this one and the previous one are neck and neck at how well they're done bro, first that windswept look and now crumpled lines, I could never do anything like that to create those cool effects! I think you captured the mood of it very well with how Sonic looks. Well done =D
