Don't Let Your Guard Down

Hello all. To celebrate my fandom as a major Bruce Springsteen fan and a Sonic Underground fan, I'm making parody album covers of Sonic Underground albums based on Bruce Springsteen's albums. I've wanted to do this for a while. Sure I did a parody of "Born To Run" a long time ago, but I want to use my NEW and IMPROVED style to draw the albums right. So, finally, I got off my lazy butt and decided to do the album-parodies I've always wanted to do. I may even do the backs of them when I get the time, including the songs... that would seem cool, eh?

Also, notice their names... Sonic (5 letters) Underground (11 letters) ... Bruce (5 letters) Springsteen (11 letters) and, believe me, I can easily see Sonic as Bruce Springsteen himself... can you? Be honest!

This is the eleventh album. This one is based off of Bruce Springsteen's "The Ghost of Tom Joad" album, released three years after his 'Other Band' albums. Returning to his roots of solo-acoustic style, like he did for "Nebraska" back in 1982, Bruce recorded this album in 1995, AFTER his "Greatest Hits" album. It's a dark album, but well worth listening to. Then he did his longest tour called his 'Ghost of Tom Joad' tour because he was still no longer with the E Street Band, so it was just him and his acoustic guitar for a whole tour.

For Sonic Underground, I wanted to find a song that was kind of dark AND had the same number of words as "The Ghost of Tom Joad" so I found "Don't Let Your Guard Down" and it fit well.

Art-wise, this was the hardest album for me to make a parody of because the original album cover is heavily detailed with paint splatters everywhere, and the text was difficult to find that matched. Eventually, I found them and spent all day making this album.

Well, enjoy "Don't Let Your Guard Down" everybody.

No wonder you couldn't find an appropriate name for a better reason. "The Ghost of Tom Joad" is Springsteen's most political album. [link]

This is very good Ryan, I like how you made Sonic's facial expression sad-looking, it's believable. The text is great too, so well done ^^
